He began with participating in hip-hop classes only and eventually enrolled in jazz class. Now, at the age of 18, Cameron dances in a number of styles which include hiphop, jazz, tap, swing, salsa, stage, modern,and polynesian.

In 2005 Cameron was 1st place winner of Chinatowns Youth Talent Showdown, also the most outstanding male polynesian dancer, and was 1st runner-up Dancer of The Year at 5678 Showtime Nationals in Niagara Falls. Some of his other awards were at Centre Stage Production where he received a specialty award, an outstanding performance award and a award of distinction. In 2007, he received a 4 week unlimited scholarship to Harbour Dance Studio while participating in a hip-hop convention called: Street Groove. From his high school he was awarded the top grade 12 student in choreography and he just recently won high gold at I.D.C. in Oregon. He competed in Dance World Cup and won gold for both his hip-hop and stage/character solos.

Cameron believes its not about winning its about learning and doing what you love to do.As his teacher, Desiderio Fortunato, always told him “In order to get what you’ve never had, do what you’ve never done.”

Westcoast Contortion was founded by Anne Lawton in 1981. It started as a training ground for young students interested in learning the fine art of contortion.

Over the years Anne was able to share her own professional performance experience with her students and help them transition into the professional world themselves. Westcoast is now a full-time performing group as well as a training facility for up & coming acrobats. Their training facility is located in Langley, however,  there is also a sister training center here in Maple Ridge called  Precision Acrobatics. Alfonso Caldera, director and choreographer of Bravo Dance Company and founder of SalsaCanada.com, was born in Nicaragua surrounded by salsa music at a very young age. He started dancing Salsa 15 years ago in Vancouver then on to train with the world famous dance team, Rumba Brava in Seattle. Through the years Alfonso competed in some of the top salsa competitions where he consistently placed in the top three, including the Miami World Salsa Federation competition, winning the championship trophy. Alfonso has developed a unique style of dancing, combining both Cuban-style and LA-style Salsa which is prevalent in his teaching technique both in his classes and instructional videos.
